Description

Happymodel CrazyF411 Pro 20A AIO with ELRS 2.4 RX

The CrazyF411 ELRS flight controller includes a built-in UART 2.4GHz ExpressLRS receiver and a 20A Blheli_s ESC (with Bluejay firmware pre-installed) suitable for 2-4S setups. Its design, featuring larger Mosfets, supports up to 20A currents, making it ideal for 2-4S toothpick drones or long-range FPV drones. The 2.4GHz ExpressLRS receiver utilizes the SX1280 radio frequency chip for superior sensitivity, high packet rates, and low latency, meeting the needs of both race and freestyle pilots.

The integrated ELRS receiver communicates via UART with the MCU, similar to the Happymodel EP1, and supports firmware updates via Betaflight pass-through or WiFi for convenience. The pre-installed firmware version is ELRS V3.0.1. This flight controller is designed to replace the ELRS X1 flight controller in Crux35 drones.

Binding Procedure

  1. Plug a USB into the flight controller and wait for the green LED to turn off. Then, unplug the USB and repeat this process twice. On the third power-up, the green LED will flash twice indicating the receiver is in binding mode.
  2. Ensure your ExpressLRS transmitter module firmware is version 3.x.x. Access the ExpressLRS.lua script from the “TOOLS” menu on your transmitter, and select [Bind] to start the binding process with the onboard ExpressLRS receiver.
  3. The green LED will blink slowly and then become solid, indicating a successful binding. If the green LED continues to flash twice, switch the Model Match setting from “off” to “on” or vice versa.

Receiver LED status

  • Solid Green: Bind successful/RC link established.
  • Double-flash Green: Bind mode activated.
  • Slow flash Green: No RC signal from transmitter.
  • Fast continuous flash Green: ExpressLRS WiFi enabled.

Notes:

  • The “ET” and “ER” pads are designated for communication with the ESP8285. To upgrade the firmware of the onboard UART ELRS receiver, connect the “TX” terminal of your FTDI tool to the “ET” pad, and the “RX” terminal to the “ER” pad. Prior to this process, ensure that the “+5V” and “E5” pads are short-circuited.
  • Special thanks to our team pilot, “Jiggy,” for providing the bind instructions through the Alternative-Binding-Method-for-UART-Based-ELRS-RX
