Arm Geometry

The ApexDC EVO frame has a unique arm design that differs from the usual ‘dead cat’ frame. We’ve aligned the front and rear motors in a way that keeps the motors in a compressed-x layout, ensuring balanced flight and no compromise in handling. Unlike typical ‘dead cat’ designs that move rear motors closer to the body and affect handling, our design keeps the frame’s balance and flight characteristics intact. We’ve achieved this by modifying only the top and bottom main plates, allowing the use of standard Apex arms – 5″ in the front and 6″ in the back. This design ensures no propellers appear in the view of DJI HD flight cameras. Also, it enables lower GoPro angles for smoother cinematic flying than ever before.

Camera Mount

The Apex EVO includes a redesigned aluminium camera mount with 3D printed inserts for stability and electrical isolation. It’s adaptable to various HD and analog cameras, allowing adjustment of the camera’s position within the frame. The camera mount features four adjustable positions, each 2mm apart, by rotating the TPU inserts and using either the upper or lower bolt as a pivot.

HD Video System Isolation

Some HD video systems have grounding issues. The kit includes M2 and M1.6 mounting hardware for Caddx Vista and DJI O3, respectively, along with a mylar insulator and non-conductive POM ‘cone rivets’ to prevent grounding issues, adding only 0.5g of weight.

Antenna Mounting

Each kit contains a 3D printed antenna mount suitable for HD video systems and similar antennas.
