BMS Racing JS-2 5″ Racing Frame Kit HDZero

This is the primary racing machine for the BMS Racing team. Developed for the purpose of competing internationally for the 2023 season in a team environment, there are a host of changes from the original JS-1 to suit the new requirements.

The prototype version of this frame won the 2023 New Zealand Open along with the 2023 Australian International Airshow Drone Racing Open .

Features

• Compatibility with larger ESCs like the Foxeer Reaper 60A slim, featuring a rearward XT60 connector and a factory Capacitor.
• Enhancements in aerodynamic balance for better performance.
• Improved weight distribution to enhance handling.
• Independent arm bolts, separate from the stack bolts, making arm replacement more convenient.
• The option for a locked-in camera tilt with a tilt range of 25 to 75 degrees.
• Utilisation of a True X Layout, improving efficiency, especially at angles below 45 degrees during forward flight.
• The airframe’s standard configuration weight, including TPU but excluding electronics or motor bolts, is approximately 76g for the Analog version or 80g for the HDZero version.
• T700 Carbon
• Compatible with HDZero camera and VTX

• Adding 3D printed parts is an additional option. Please add the frame kit to your cart, and then specify your preferred 3D print base combo. Printing is done on-demand.

JS-2 HDZero Build Guide

Note: the Bolt sizes used on the frame and in particular the 6 bolts that lock in the roll cage in conjunction with the standoffs. At either end you use 6mm bolts and in the mid section you use 8mm bolts which allows for the TPU VTX antenna mount.

When installing the TPU VTX antenna mount, the 8mm only need to be just nipped up. Do not over tighten them as they TPU will make sure they don’t come loose.

HD-Zero Whoop Lite Mounting

Note: The there are 2 main types of HDZero VTX Mounts. The above is for the HDZero Whoop Lite Board. You will need to remove both the upper and lower protective metal case (they simply pull off). You will also need to insert the provided rubber grommets.

Note: ESC is secured using 4 Nylon M3 Nuts.

The above image shows both the upper and lower TPU mounts without the Whoop Lite VTX. Basically sandwiched between both.

Foxeer HDZero VTX mounting

Similar to the Whoop Lite board, you will also need to insert the provided rubber grommets. The VTX is  sandwiched between both upper and lower TPU mounts.
